June 29, 2017, Portland, OR—What wine would Wonder Woman drink? This is a question that Pairings Portland, Portland’s weirdest wine shop and bar, is prepared to answer July 13-16 with their Wonder Woman Wine Flight, a wine tasting and benefit for Betties360 that will pair eight wines to eight characters from DC Comics’ Wonder Woman movie for $25 ($20 for those in costume as Wonder Woman). As a bonus, local writer Andy Mangels (Wonder Woman ’77 Meets the Bionic Woman) will make a special appearance at the event July 14 from 6 to 8 pm!
“At Pairings Portland, our focus is on pairing wine to people, places, and things,” said Pairings Portland owner Jeffrey Weissler. “It’s quirky, weird, and ultimately makes wine approachable for all. What could be more fun that tasting a wine that embodies the personality of Wonder Woman—while raising funds to benefit young women in Portland?”
In addition to tasting eight different wines, attendees will have the chance to support Betties360, a nonprofit organization that provides under-served girls in the Portland community with access to free outdoor activities and life skills training. For each purchase of a $20 grab bag of wine, Betties360 will receive an $8 donation. Pairings will also raffle off two tickets for their Pairings Portland Basics Class, an $80 value, each day of the event, at $10 per entry, with the proceeds going to Betties360.
Those who purchase the Wonder Woman Tasting Flight and a ticket for the drawing will receive a bonus ticket. Mark your calendar now for this wondrous event and help empower the next generation of Amazons!
