Wine-Tasting to Raise Survival Funds for Relish Gastropub

March 3, 2021

Portland, Oregon, March 1, 2021:

On March 14, 2021 from 3-5 p.m., Relish Gastropub will host a special wine tasting, raising funds to build a patio cover. This will allow Relish to survive COVID-19, and continue serving the greater Portland area as it has for the past eight years.

The wine tasting will feature five wines, each matched with a canapé or bite to delight the palate. The event is $25 a person, and includes a bottle of Ken Wright Wine. Tickets will be sold for raffles of additional bottles of exotic Ken Wright Wines. Reservations for the wine tasting can be made by calling 503.208.3442 or visiting www.relishgastopub.com to book on RESY.

This past year has been a tough time for the service industry, and many landmark establishments have closed. Between losing 25% of their indoor seating due to Oregon’s COVID-19 safety restrictions, and the March storms devastating their patio tents, Relish needs community support to survive. The funds will be used for a permanent patio cover, to maximize outdoor seating, and allow the restaurant to remain open. In addition to the fundraiser, donations can also be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/covid-survival-fund-for-relish-gastropub

Relish is co-owned by Akhil and Marla Kapoor, and was opened in 2013 with a vision to serve “good food without the white-tablecloth prices,” and has gone on to become a gastronomic refuge for the greater Portland area. The from-scratch kitchen is currently led by Chef de Cuisine Codie Elliot, who focuses on using fresh, Pacific Northwest ingredients for happy hour and dinner six days a week. Relish was named “one of the top gastropubs in the US” by Food and Wine Magazine in 2014.
