Willamette Valley Vineyards opens new restaurant in Lake Oswego

April 28, 2022

WILLAMETTE VALLEY VINEYARDS OPENS ITS FIRST TASTING ROOM & RESTAURANT IN LAKE OSWEGO.

The storied winery brings the Oregon wine country experience to the Portland-metro area

Lake Oswego, OR – Monday, April 25, 2022: Willamette Valley Vineyards (NASDAQ: WVVI & WVVIP), a leading producer of Pinot Noir in Oregon, will open its new Lake Oswego Tasting Room & Restaurant on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

The Lake Oswego location is the first of several Tasting Room & Restaurants the company plans to open this year. A second location will open this summer on the waterfront in Vancouver, Washington, and a third location will open this fall in Happy Valley, Oregon.

“We are thrilled to join the Lake Oswego community and make it easier for people to enjoy our food and wine pairings as we know not everyone can venture out to wine country as often as they’d like,” said Winery Director Christine Clair. “We’re proud of this effort to bring the wine experience to our customers, Wine Club Members and Owners, many of whom live in and around Lake Oswego.”

The Pacific Northwest-inspired menu features Willamette’s sustainably grown wines paired with seasonal, locally sourced cuisine crafted by noted Chef Cory Rom. Chef Rom’s menu offers à la carte dishes with recommended wine pairings, in addition to a signature Tasting Experience that takes inspiration from the unique characteristics of Willamette’s wines, highlighting three wine and food pairings, with vegetarian and vegan options also available.

“Chef Cory’s industry experience and thoughtful approach to seasonal, sustainable cuisine will showcase our wines and provide depth to the Oregon wine experience,” Clair said.

Guests can look forward to Chef Rom’s unique approach with dishes such as pan-seared masa dumplings with braised Anderson Ranch lamb, steelhead tartare and a sumptuous charcuterie board, as well as wine flights, craft cocktails and draft beer from Stickmen Brewing Company.

Along with the fine cuisine, the Tasting Room & Restaurant is notable for its indoor and outdoor fireplaces, glass wine wall, trellis patio, wine lockers and a barrel booth with dramatic lighting.

Dana Doggett, manager of the Lake Oswego Tasting Room & Restaurant, is the primary leader of the location and has been active in the community throughout the project’s development, providing wine for community functions and charitable events, including the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce’s 80th anniversary and holiday party last year.

“On behalf of the Chamber, we’re looking forward to this new Lake Oswego treasure that will bring a whole new focus on State Street businesses as well as bring a business to our community that started contributing before opening their doors,” said Liz Hartman, interim director of the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce. “That says something about how much Willamette is looking forward to being a part of our community.”

Reservations are highly recommended and can be made via the Tasting Room & Restaurant’s TOCK page.
