I hope everyone had a great eclipse experience. Now that we are back to normal mode, the next major Mother Nature event is going to be grape harvest, likely to start in the next few weeks. As we lead up to that annual momentus occasion, I’ll be out doing 2 events in the next two weeks right in the middle of the vineyards. Please come join me and taste some great wines while enjoying the beauty of the vines at this stage of the growing season!
If getting out of the city doesn’t fit your schedule, you can always find me on Fridays from 2pm to 7pm in the tasting room on Alberta Street.
Hope to see you soon!

SUN, SEP 3: VIOLA IN THE VINEYARD
Come Taste at the Allegre Vineyard!
12pm to 5pm • 3324 Ehrch Hill Road, Hood River
It’s Columbia Gorge Wine Weekend and we’re teaming up with our great growers, Jen Kroner and Pat Allegre, out at the Allegre Vineyard in Hood River for a special Tasting in the Vineyard! You’ll sip wines standing right in the middle of the 2017 vintage of grapes still hanging on the vine!
As you know, Viola crafts Italian-inspired wines in our Portland garage, sourcing almost all of the fruit from the Columbia Gorge AVA. Half of the Gorge fruit comes from the Allegre Vineyard. With all the Columbia Gorge wineries hosting open houses for the Labor Day Weekend, as a new Associate member of the Columbia Gorge Winegrower’s Association, Viola is joining the fun with our Vineyard partner to showcase what we’re doing with GorgeWine! Make a day of it, visit several wineries and be sure to include this stop on your travels.
We will have some special treats open, including the flagship Bianco d’Allegre, the not-yet-released vintage of Sauvignon Blanc aged in Acacia wood that we think is going to seriously please Sancerre lovers! Plus a flight of Dolcetto including Rosso and Rosato. And our young pup Watson might be there too, so you could meet 4 dogs on this trip! This will give you a good idea of what this special certified organic vineyard means to Italian wine lovers who love Gorge wine.
Join us for a tasting and a walking tour of the vineyards. Tour times will be 12:30 and 2:30, but you can stop in anytime to taste and take home your favorite bottles at this special vineyard event. RSVP appreciated, so we know to expect you. Tasting fee is $10, but free for all of our Viola Club members (limit 2 tastings) and waived if you purchase 2 bottles or more.
