Vibrant Valley Farm Southern Feast with pFriem Brewing – July 13th!

June 17, 2019

Vibrant Valley Farm Southern Feast with pFriem Brewery

Saturday, July 13th. 6pm
18850 NE Reeder Rd. Sauvie Island
$125 includes family-style dinner, pFriem beer pairing, and gratuity
A benefit for Street Roots

La Ruta PDX presents a family-style outdoor farm-to-table dinner on beautiful Sauvie Island at Vibrant Valley Farm. Toro Bravo Inc chef John Gorham and PLAZA DEL TORO chef Michael Kessler will design a menu inspired by John’s home state of North Carolina featuring Vibrant Valley Farm’s fresh, local, and ecologically sound ingredients.

We’ll kick things off with a crawfish boil and spread of Southern-style ham and pickles and then sit down for a traditional dinner with sides from the farm, pastrami leg of lamb, and more! Each course will be paired to an artisan beer courtesy of pFriem Family Brewers.

Bluesman and Blues scholar Steve Cheseborough will turn 2019 Portland into a 1925 Mississippi jook joint with The Diving Ducks’ take on Delta Blues and hokum.

A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Street Roots, a Portland nonprofit working to support Portland’s homeless population.

The Diving Ducks
“Now if the river was whiskey and I was a diving duck, I would dive on the bottom, never would come up.” Sleepy John Estes sang that line in 1929, and the Diving Ducks are carry on that sound and spirit in the 21st century. Steve Cheseborough (vocals/guitars), Taizz Medalia (harmonica/percussion/vocals) and Dave Duffield (cornet) play downhome 1920s-30s-style jook-joint blues for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Vibrant Valley Farm
Vibrant Valley Farm is a group of dedicated farmers and passionate educators committed to exploring innovative solutions to enliven the current food system, both locally and globally. They work to honor ancient traditions in growing food and connecting to the land as well as to helping to create healthier communities.

pFriem Family Brewers
pFriem Family Brewers and its award winning tasting room are located in Hood River, OR, just south of the Washington State border and across the street from the town’s beautiful Waterfront Park. Enjoy Breathtaking views of the Columbia and White Salmon rivers while savoring pFriem’s core beers and current seasonals inside or around the fire pit on the outdoor patio.

Street Roots
Street Roots is a nonprofit creating income opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty by producing a newspaper and other media that are catalysts for individual and social change.
