The new restaurant on East Burnside will offer brunch reservations for the holiday on May 14th
PORTLAND, Ore. (April 19, 2017) – Tusk’s increasingly popular brunch service is offered every Saturday and Sunday on a walk-in basis, but on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14th, the Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant will open reservations between 10am-2pm to parties of all sizes. While the restaurant’s dinner menu is vegetable-driven, the menu at brunch is a bit heartier, with playful riffs on classic brunch dishes using spices and flavors from Moroccan and Israeli cuisines. But no matter what the hour at Tusk, the incomparable hummus and house-made flatbread are always on the menu. Pastry Chef Nora Antene’s brunch pastries have developed a following, and change weekly. Recent creations are Sesame Halva Babka and Pistachio Gooey Butter Cake, and Antene will bake a few special additions for Mother’s Day.
Tusk’s brunch menu on Mother’s Day will be offered à la carte, and reservations can be made at Tuskpdx.com or by calling the restaurant at 503.894.8082. Behind the bar, Bar Manager Tony Contreras and his team will be mixing up a full menu of brunch cocktails, from Tusk Bloody Marys (La Nina mescal, house bloody mix, lime, cumin, salt) to their take on the Mimosa (St. Germain, sparkling wine, grapefruit, turmeric), as well as non-alcoholic sippers like iced Masala Chai tea floats and ginger hot cocoa.
