Tournant’s Tazon Pozole Night Returns 10.18.18

Posted October 10, 2018

Chefs Jaret Foster and Mona Johnson ladle out traditional Mexican pozole soup along with ceviche, chocolate flan, and sheet pan nachos for a weekly celebration of flavor and friends (almost) every Thursday night

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PORTLAND, Oregon (October 10, 2018) – On Thursday, October 18th, Tazon Pozole Thursdays return to Tournant! In many regions of Mexico, pozole is served only on Thursdays—a weekly tradition of gathering friends and family around the table. Chefs Jaret Foster and Mona Johnson continue this tradition at Tournant with Tazon (which means “bowl” in Spanish) every Thursday.

Steamy bowls featuring Three Sisters Nixtamal Organic Hominy start at $12, and guests can choose from pork rojo, chicken verde, or verduras (vegan) pozole, plus traditional and not so traditional add-ins. What’s more, Tournant friend Shauna Galante of Secret Language will create rotating ceviche selections in her signature fresh and vibrant style, and Joe Rodriguez, former chocolatier at Alma and Woodblock, will make his rich chocolate flan with mezcal caramel for a sweet ending.

No reservations necessary—just drop by for restaurant-style seating, order a cold cerveza, margarita or paloma, then close your eyes and imagine you’re in sunny Mexico. Mark your calendars, and be sure to check Tournant’s events calendar in case Tournant is closed for a private party.
