Tope Opens for Lunch Seven Days a Week Starting Tomorrow, with Outdoor Seating on the Rooftop

June 18, 2019

The Hoxton, Portland’s top-floor taco bar officially opens its patio, and begins serving food and drinks at 11am daily

PORTLAND, Ore. (June 18, 2019) – With Portland’s sunshine season in full swing, the city has a new rooftop lunch spot to take in the picturesque Mt. Hood view. Starting on Wednesday, Tope will open at 11am seven days a week (until 11pm Sunday-Thursday, and 12pm Friday and Saturday). Sitting atop the Hoxton, Portland, Tope’s newly furnished patio welcomes guests to dine outdoors, with expansive views of the city and mountains.

Tope’s menu, by Executive Chef Johnny Leach, is built around tacos on house-made tortillas: lengua, kale & bean, al pastor, beef cheek in adobo, fried rockfish, roasted cauliflower, spicy lamb sausage and carnitas, currently. Then follows a list of Mexican-inspired dishes to share: queso fundido, jalapeno poppers with green goddess dressing, king salmon ceviche with zucchini & pickled nopales, escabeche salad, potato taquitos, chicharrones & avocado salsa, chips with four salsas, and sikil p’ak (Mayan pumpkin seed dip) with crisp vegetables.

With the restaurant now open from 11am through the evening, lunch can easily turn into late afternoon drinks once guests discover the cocktail menu, filled with creative libations like Carrot on My Wayward Son (Bahnez Mezcal, carrot, sweet potato, lime, mole bitters, egg white), and Celery Negotiation (Tanqueray 10, fino sherry, celery, soda). Tope’s Margarita and Spicy Margaritas are served by the glass or carafe, for friends to share.

To welcome the new daytime service, Tope’s bar team, led by The Hoxton, Portland’s Bar Manager Brett Adams, will add a selection of house made sodas and refreshing zero-proof drinks to the menu: Turmeric Cacao “Horchata” (oat milk, rice milk, Golde cacao, honey, cinnamon), iced matcha lattes (vanilla, matcha, milk of choice), and a seasonal iced coffee latte (coffee, lavender, honey, pink peppercorn, milk of choice).

Hours, Beginning on Wednesday, June 19th

Sunday-Thursday, 11am-11pm
Friday-Saturday, 11am-12pm.
No reservations taken, walk-in only.
