There’s Two More Beaverton Farmers Markets! Gobble Gobble!

November 11, 2021

To Our Market Community,

The last market of the season is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 20th, which means that we have two markets remaining in 2021.

We know what market goers are thinking about at this time of the year – stocking up on products to get them through until we open for the Winter Market on February  5th, and Holiday meals and Gift Giving.

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching it is time to cover the basics of holiday meal preparations, especially because so many of us will host or attend in-person gatherings this year. Of course you will need fresh cranberries from Cruel Mistress Cranberries and some dried cranberries from Cranberry Kitchen as well.

Garry’s Meadowfresh Farm makes the very best Eggnog and no holiday celebration would be complete without it. It is wonderful as is but also makes a great addition to a cup of freshly brewed coffee from Bastion Coffee Roasters and a dynamite cocktail mixed with Drop Shop Distillery’s Pumpkin Spice Liqueur. This Saturday is Bastion’s last day so make sure you have enough coffee to get you through to the New Year.

While we are talking about dairy products, remember that Garry’s Meadowfresh Farm also makes a variety of fabulous butters – unsalted, salted, honey and garlic – from their Jersey cow’s milk. You won’t want to forget to buy cream for all of those decadent  dishes on your Thanksgiving menu.

We hear that turkeys are in short supply this season so make sure to order your Wine Smoked Turkey by 11/15 from Lonely Lane Farms. Email Patty Kloft to place an order: patty@lonelylanefarms.com.

Also in short supply this season are Dungeness Crabs so if you would like to serve Quinn’s Crabcakes to your guests we recommend placing an advance order with David Quinn by texting him at 503-709-6984.

Market bakers will be busy helping you with your holiday table. Great Harvest will have a large variety of rolls and stuffing mix available at our last market on the 20th. Great Harvest is not taking pre-orders but most of our bakeries do, especially for pies. We highly recommend placing advance orders with:
Decadent Creations: www.decadentcreations.com, Preorder deadline for market pickup Wednesday, November 17.
Milk Money:  milk-money.com, Preorder deadline for market pickup is Tuesday, November 16.
Tipping the Scales Vegan Bakery: tippingthescalesbakery@gmail.com
Linfette (GF): https://linfette.wixsite.com/website
Sinful Confections (GF): www.sinfulconfection.com

Market Master Ginger Rapport often has a house full of people spending the holidays with her which means that she has to think about feeding everyone breakfast. There is nothing more fun and well received by guests than a pancake feast using a variety of sourdough pancake and waffle batters from Lindsay’s Sourdough. The best part is that nothing could be easier.  Lindsay sells her batters ready to pour onto the griddle. Get a variety of flavors and let your guests mix and match. Handy tip: Lindsay’s batters freeze perfectly. Take them out of the freezer and thaw in the fridge the night before you want to serve them.

Ginger also stocks her freezer with a wide selection of soups from Souper Natural. These soups help to provide meals for family members when she is busy cooking the Thanksgiving meal. Souper Natural makes regular, vegetarian and vegan soups so there is something hot and delicious for everyone.

 Warm Regards,

The Beaverton Farmers Market

We will see you this Saturday at the Market from 9:00AM-1:30PM.

Get It Before It’s Gone!

Our last newsletter of the season is usually devoted to gift giving and items to stock up on before the market takes a break. A couple of these vendors will not be in the market on November 20th so we wanted to make sure that you stock up on their goodies since it will be their last market of 2021 this Saturday.

Jamie of Sidekick Provisions will have her last day this week and you won’t want to miss out on her delicious savory dairy free almond dips. Both the Smoky Chipotle and Garlic Citrus Herb would make the perfect accompaniment to crudité and crackers as an appetizer for Thanksgiving.

As mentioned before, this is also Bastion Roasting Co.’s last week. Stock up on your favorite java as well as pick up a few bags to give as gifts. Bastion’s roasts are too good not to share, not to mention their oh so cute packaging.

If you haven’t met one of our newest vendors, Ocean Green Healing, you are missing out on relaxation and relief for all your ailments. Ocean Green Healing makes full spectrum CBD topical products. Marketing Director, Kate Laubernds, can attest to the effectiveness of their products. After a cold day at the market and some lingering muscle pain she took a bath using their CBD infused Bergamot and Lemongrass Bath Bomb and immediately felt relaxed and rejuvenated. Pick up one of their curated gift boxes for the gift giving season!

Stay tuned next week for more on our stocking up and gift giving guide!
