The Portland Bottle Shop: Cesanese, Recycling Drop Box and Much More!

April 30, 2021

The Weekly What’s Up – 4/30/21!

So much to talk about this week. We’ve got a new vintage of an Italian favorite that just landed. We’ve received our recycling bin for those pesky six and four-pack holders, and then there is the return of some of our favorite food items. Wow, a busy week. Scroll down and check out all the fun things we’ve got going on. We hope to see all your masked, smiling faces soon.

Friday Wine and Beer delivery

Email your orders to info@pdxbottleshop.com and let us know the style and price point you are looking for. We will call you to confirm your order and you can pay over the phone.

Orders must be made by Thursday at 5 pm. Only delivering within 5 miles of the shop. There is a $5 delivery fee.

From the Kitchen

Some old friends are making a comeback. As we head into the summer months, we are bringing some of our shared plates back. The original smoked salmon dip has returned, along with a charcuterie plate. The charcuterie board has 2 cheeses (Manchego and Brie) and 2 meats (Italian salami and Coppa) with all the accutrements. Come share a plate while sitting at one of our outside tables.

Recycling Bin Available
Ever since the beer industry switched to those hard six and four pack holders, we have been accumulating them. They can’t go in the regular recycling. It doesn’t seem right to throw them in the trash. Well, we finally found a recycling program. So, if you are one of those folks that have a bunch of these laying around your house, bring them by and drop them off. We will take care of them for you! Finally.

Damiano Ciolli “Silene” Cesanese Romano

Damiano Ciolli makes wine in the appellation of Olevano Romano located in the region of Lazio in central Italy. He makes wine from the region’s signature grape, Cesanese. Using natural winemaking methods he makes some of the top examples of Cesanese wine in the country. This bottle is super elegant- medium bodied with light ferric aromas, green fig, and black pepper and baking spices on the palate. There is a touch of ‘old world’ funk in the finish that is only reminiscent of wines grown from Italian soil.

Ruse Brewing Interpreter

Ruse Brewing happens to be one of our favorite breweries right now. All their beers have remarkable balance. Even this delicious Double IPA is balanced. This tasty hazy IPA is packed with Mosaic and Citra hops and comes in at 8.2% ABV. However, you would never know it was 8.2%, it is so smooth and inviting. I encourage you to give it a try, you will not be disappointed. As with all Ruse, it’s well worth. Enjoy.
