NEW! Halloween Trick-or-Treat Popup
October 31 6:30PM – 9:00PM
How do you trick-or-treat safely in a pandemic? It’s tricky. (Pun intend.) The Pix-O-Matic will have 114 “doors” with different treats behind them for contactless candy fun. What’s even better about trick-or-treating in a vending machine is kids can choose the treat they want. We’ll have Pix truffles, Halloween favorites (mini candy bars), retro candies and other fun stuff (think stickers, small toys and Kellogg’s mini cereal boxes). Press the buttons and watch, mesmerized, as candy and chocolate go round and round in the carousel. When you see one you want, go for it. The vending machine doors will open for free between 6:30PM and 9:00PM on Halloween night. One treat per person, please! The Pix-O-Matic area will also be transformed into a haunted house, and the ghosts will be watching…
And dress your best for the costume contest! Take your photo with the Pix-O-Matic photo booth to show off your costume. Post it on any @pixpatisserie social media site (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) or just follow us to see if you are the winner. Winner will be announced October 2nd and wins a big box of candy ($50 value) because you probably won’t fill that pillowcase in 2020. Included in the box will be our little candy Trick-or-Treaters – chocolate covered pecans draped in marzipan “sheets” holding pumpkin pails. Want to make your own? Get the recipe in the new Petite Pâtisserie cookbook.
NEW! La Fête du Macaron Popup
November 28 All day and night starting at 10AM
Pix Pâtisserie celebrates the French macaron once again at its annual La Fête du Macaron. And you guessed it, it’s in a vending machine! Thirty colorful flavors will fill the Pix-O-Matic, from classics like pistachio, raspberry and salted caramel, to the fun flavors of birthday cake and s’mores, and something for the adults…bourbon, pina colada and The Dude (yes, it’s a White Russian macaron in bowling ball formation). New this year – mini macs! So small you might mistake these multi-colored macarons as M&M’s. Eat them like popcorn.
Mixed macaron 6-pack are $18 and bags of mini macs will be $12. Like what you taste? Get the recipe for Lemon Poppy Seed Macarons in Pix owner Cheryl Wakerhauser’s book, Modern French Pastry. Available online or by calling 971-271-7166.
Petite Pâtisserie Book Release Popup
August 25 – 31
Tiny petits fours, bon bons, macarons and other whimsical bite-sized treats will take over the Pix-O-Matic for the debut of Pix owner, Cheryl Wakerhauser’s, new book titled Petite Pâtisserie. Literally translated to “little ovens,” French petits fours are small pastries that can be eaten in two to three bites. In addition to composed, multi-dimensional petits fours, Cheryl also shares a striking sweet and savory menu for high tea, bon bons that make you rethink the classic truffle, dessert shooters in mini glassware and her take on cookies (think macarons so tiny you can pop them into your mouth like M&Ms). Also discover a caramel mousse with salted almonds wrapped in a thin layer of chocolate that will make you say, “Shazam!”, an adult dessert version of the Old Fashioned in ice cream shake formation and a coconut mousse dessert in the form of, what else, a mini coconut! Playful recipes backed by solid instruction and creative execution.
Four-piece petit four sampler boxes will be available in the Pix-O-Matic so you can see and taste some of the recipes before you try your hand at making them. Small pastry equipment (such as molds and digital thermometers) and pastry pantry staples (Valrhona chocolate, pistachio paste, gold luster dust) will fill other compartments alongside the mini tasty treats.
Also available for preorder pickup August 25th – August 31st :
