Looks like the much needed rain is on it’s way, but do not fret, we will see the sun again soon. I promise. I happen to be a fan of the rain and drizzles that make this magical part of the world so green, so I am not going to complain. Instead, I am going to enjoy the chilly air with a nice glass of red. If you would like a recommendation on what to have with the cooler evenings please don’t hesitate. There are more wines and new vintages coming through every week.

From the Kitchen
Check out our newest addition to the menu, our Fresh Veggie Sandwich. This thing is loaded. Kevin combined Basil Cream Cheese, Spinach, Red Onion, Roasted Red Peppers, Olive Tapenade, Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Havarti all layered on Multigrain Bread. Yes, it’s a mouthful. A delicious mouthful.
Join us for another week of “Hey, What’s That Guy Drinking?”
This week we are looking at the world of Sauvignon Blanc. This wonderful grape is grown all over the world and with very distinct characteristics. What you get in the Loire Valley and what is grown in New Zealand are completely different. This is a fun one to really taste the difference in terrior. Hope you can join us.
Tasting Notes: New vintage of one of the Bottle Shop’s favorite french table wines. The grape varieties used are typical of the Corbieres region: mainly Grenache, with Syrah and Carignan- all from old vines. The resulting blend has generous blackberry and red plum fruit, with layered and integrated tannic structure. Perfect pairing for a simple pasta with red sauce and veggies, or a ham and gruyere sandwich with a small mixed green salad.
Foreland Pils
We’ve been carrying the Foreland brews since their inception, but never the Pils. We carry their IPAs which are wonderful, but this Pils really grabbed our attention. German style with the perfect amount of creaminess. A beautiful herbal note comes through throughout the crisp finish. So good. This one is on my short list for this upcoming summer. Enjoy.
