The Heathman Restaurant & Bar Brings a Taste of Bastille Day to Portland Diners
Iconic restaurant honors French heritage with artisanal sandwiches at Portland Art Museum, pop-up brasserie
Portland, Ore. (July 2, 2015) —The Heathman Restaurant & Bar, Portland’s iconic French restaurant, celebrates Bastille Day with four days of specialty menus and events beginning July 11.
In partnership with the Alliance Française de Portland, The Heathman Restaurant & Bar will kick off Bastille Day at the Portland Art Museum on Saturday, July 11. French patriots will enjoy made-to-order artisan sandwiches served on French baguettes, accompanied by house-made potato crisps and a choice of beverage. The all-inclusive lunch is available for $7. Festivities will include games, music and family-friendly fun from 12 PM- 6 PM.
The celebration continues through the weekend and into the week as The Heathman Restaurant & Bar transforms into a pop-up brasserie, complete with traditional French menus and beverage specials. Diners will enjoy leisurely meals featuring French favorites of coq au vin, pan-seared foie gras and bouillabaisse. Executive Chef Michael Stanton has also created a vegan prix fixe menu, offering four courses for $45. Additional treats include curated artisan cheese plates and heaping bowls of French onion soup.
“Bastille Day is a celebration of our French roots and influence,” says Stanton. “Our pop-up brasserie will transport Portland to the streets of Paris, giving guests a taste of Gallic culture while maintaining our northwest flair.”
