The Weekly What’s Up for The Portland Bottle Shop!
The kick-off to the official start of the holiday season is next week and we are here to help! Whether you are celebrating friendsgiving, Thanksgiving or just hanging out with your dog, we’ve got you covered. We will help pair wines with whatever you’ve got coming out of the oven and there are more freshly released beers around than we can swing a stick at. Come by for some of Kevin’s house-made soups, check out Brent’s latest beer grabs or just relax with a glass of wine at the bar. Whatever you have planned, we hope you swing by for some holiday cheer.
From the Kitchen
Kevin is at it again with some amazing food coming out of the kitchen. This weekend he has made his delicious clam chowder and veggie curry soups. Perfect for these chilly days and oh so easy as a quick lunch. Another veggie favorite, the portobello mushroom sandwich, has returned to the menu. Balsamic marinated and topped with vegan pesto, roasted red peppers, red onion, arugula and creamy, melted havarti on a ciabatta. So good! Grab some this weekend and let us take care of the dishes. See you soon!
November Case of the Month is just what you need for Thanksgiving and beyond!
Let us take a little of the planning off your plate. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we have put together a great Case of the Month whether you are gathering with friends, family, traditional menu or not. This month we have several classic Thanksgiving pairings with a Beaujolais, superb local Pinot Noirs, a top-of-the-line Chardonnay and more. All wines pair wonderfully with the classic menu. Not going classic? There is delicious Cabernet Sauvignon and who doesn’t like starting off with a dry glass of Prosecco? Check out all of the details here. And just think, you’ll be saving 20% off retail price. This is a great little bonus as the holiday season officially starts. Cheers and have a great week!
After you stuff yourself with all of the fixins at the dinner table, you should grab yourself one of these delicious porters and curl up in front of the fire. Both the Backwoods Pecan Pie Porter and the Three Creeks Five Pine Chocolate Porter are both worthy choices for that decompression time after your meal. They are delicious with just the right hint of sweetness. Nothing too crazy, but enough to satisfy you after a big meal. Dark, creamy and oh so good. Cheers!
