It was rainy and 43° yet they brunched for 2+ hours!
We’re finally opening the patio this afternoon, with a clear overhead tarp that lets the sun and stars shine through and with heated tables that warm your parts that usually freeze while sitting outside in the cold. I’ll be responsible for heating your hands and legs, you’re responsible for wearing an appropriate jacket or sweater. You can reserve a table HERE, when you’re ready.
Many of you have questions, so here is the F.A.Q. answer list:
Our tarp is transparent, allowing sunlight and existing overhead patio lights to illuminate our patio while eliminating any claustrophobia that comes from being in an enclosed area.
There are no “sides” to our patio other than the buildings that pre-existed. The space is perfectly ventilated, open to the sidewalk on one side and the waterfall on the other. This does mean that when the wind is howling and the rain is blowing sideways, the patio may be inhospitable for a day; but for 95% of Oregon’s spring, it should be quite lovely.
There are no flames, gasses or fumes.
There are 12 tables on the front patio: six 4-tops, four 2-tops and two small 6-tops, all of which are now permanently placed and cannot be combined into other configurations. We will have some tables on the back patio set up within a week including one 8-top since it is now legal to host dinners for eight outdoors.
If you can reserve the table, it will be heated on top and bottom. There are two tables which have legs rather than a center column so they could only be heated on the tabletop; these will be reserved for walk-in guests.
The wife of the bass player in this picture told him that for her birthday, “I just want to go somewhere and have dinner again, I want to sit outside again and listen to you play again.” So he called me and asked if they could play a show Saturday night for his wife’s birthday. Who was I to argue?
The George Colligan Trio will be playing for a few hours starting at 5pm on Saturday. Reservations strongly recommended.
