We have brought in two of their wines so far, here is a brief introduction:
2020 Mourvedre of Rose $21 –
Winemakers Notes: 100% Mourvedre from Carpenter Hill Vineyards in the Rogue Valley AVA. The fruit was gorgeous. We gently pressed off into a stainless steel tank to settle overnight. Go to barrel clean, and allowed to naturally ferment and complete malolactic fermentation in neutral French oak barrels. Aged for 5 months. Notes of strawberry, kiwi, and watermelon, with a nice “grip” on the finish–the natural tannins from the skins–that is sure to complement spicy and rich foods, and anything off the grill. (A sunny day is also a great pairing.)
2020 Red Blend $24 –
Winemakers Notes: The Red Blend is a representation of my cellar, and of the great State of Oregon. Two-thirds of the blend is Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, with the other third from the Rogue Valley AVA in Southern Oregon. Wild ferment of gently crushed fruit. Aged in neutral French Oak for six months. Unfined and always unfiltered. Drink now (with a slight chill is nice), or 3-5 years. It is ready to go, but has the tension to go the distance.
