The apples have arrived! It’s time. Peak autumn goodness is here and we want to celebrate with you!
Join us this Saturday, October 19th for an apple fest with all of our Providore Fine Foods friends! Little T Baker will break out the apple tarts. Pastaworks will host a hard cider and cidra tasting. We will guide you through a mountain of beautiful and unusual apples for eating, baking and sauce.

Kiyokawa has sent us some varieties that you won’t find anywhere else this year (except on the farm!), and we’ve been experimenting with different varietals for baking, sauce and pie. Looking for your perfect apple? Just ask!
Our absolute favorite Black Futsu squash are back in the house. These juicy, sweet fall wonders are best simply roasted – then scoop out the insides and use wherever you would use pumpkin! We made Black Futsu risotto with sage and it was perfect!
This year, our harvest party will help support the Sauvie Island Center, a place where Portland’s school kids learn about the the life and science of an organic farm and this special place we all call home. Shop fall fruit and shop for good!
Chanterelle season is here. Chanterelle mushrooms are the pride of the northwest for a reason – it is an incredibly versatile mushroom, with a meaty yet delicate flavor and a beautiful shape and color. If you have the time, it is worth hunting for your own. Noble Rot chef Leather Storrs has a few thoughts on where and how to look. If you are like us, however, and you don’t always have the time to trek through the woods, the chanties we’re getting this year are incredible!
Chanterelles take well to delicate alliums, like leeks and shallot, and are beautiful with herbs like thyme and marjoram. Sauté in a good amount of butter, all together. Fresh pasta never found a better friend!
