Spring Equinox Hotpot Dinner at Tournant
We have had so much fun this Winter hosting Hotpot Dinners at Biwa, with our friends over at Tournant, and even in the snow out at Suttle Lodge.
There is a special quality to cooking over fire together at the table that is hard to describe… a slightly anxious anticipation that quickly gives way to a warm delicious flush of accomplishment and friendship. Glowing faces, lots of smiling, lots of little cups of sake and frosty beers, and noodles to finish.
Now that Spring, with its promise of asparagus and strawberries and the waning of the kohlrabi and sunchoke, is quickly coming upon us, well…
We are celebrating with a Spring Equinox Hotpot Dinner!
Please get some friends together and join us at Tournant on March 22nd anytime between 5:00 and 9:00. For $25/ person all guests will get virtually unlimited broth, vegetables and noodles in your very own shared hotpot. We aren’t taking reservations and two to six guests is an ideal group size, please feel free to come by yourself or with the whole team… we will work it out!
Inspired by the wonderful new film, Her Love Boils Bathwater (see it!), we will also be celebrating with our new birthday tradition, Shabu-Shabu, and we will have all of the makings of this special dip-and-swish sliced beef Hotpot available, along with Ota Tofu, dumplings, meatballs, pork belly, feisty shrimp and more special items available to purchase ala carte to embellish your Hotpot.
We really hope that you will join us for this special night… it is going to be a lot of fun (we promise!!!)
Also… It’s our Birthday Tomorrow :-) (Thursday)
It really snuck up on us this year but it is totally our birthday tomorrow and we really would like you to spend it with us. 11 years of Biwa and 3 years of Noraneko… Wonderful!
We will be celebrating the birthday as usual, with hamburgers (and Future Burgers…), drinks and fun music at both restaurants. For our new birthday tradition, Shabu-Shabu, you could join us at Tournant on the 22nd (see above)
Thanks so much to our guests and staff (and especially Kina!!!)… we couldn’t do this without you and we hope to see you soon.
Dim Sum Tapas at Plaza del Toro
Mark your calendar!
On April 13th Gabe is going to be the guest chef at Plaza del Toro for the fourth installment of their exciting Dim Sum Tapas series.
Gabe and the team are hard at work on an exciting and highly personal menu of fusion tapas that share the stories of some of their favorite things… we can’t wait to taste them with you.
As always (!!!) best to you, and we hope to see you soon. We miss you when you aren’t here…
