As the weather starts to turn chilly, I start to look for my favorite pair of sippers. (No, I’m not talking about the fuzzy kind you put on your feet.) I’m talking about our authentic Masala Chai and Indian Coffee.
I like to think of our Bollywood Theater Masala Chai like a Reluctant Trading greatest hits record. It brings together so many of the fresh, fragrant spices that my partner Mr. Divakar sources for us.
It’s an authentic, full-bodied, warming, loose-leaf blend of Assam black tea, fresh cardamom, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, bay leaves, fennel seed and our signature pepper.

Bollywood Theater sells so much chai in their restaurants, we fly in hundreds of pounds of it direct from India to their door several times a year.

It was formulated by Chef Troy MacLarty exclusively for his Portland, Oregon restaurants and for us at Reluctant Trading. It’s a beautiful and well-balanced blend of our fresh cumin, coriander, black pepper, turmeric, and cayenne.
Try it with chicken, meats, veggies, soups. Sprinkle it on french fries. And use it in anything that calls for curry powder. (Duh, right?)
