South Waterfront Farmers Market Introduces New Winter Market

November 11, 2019

Join us for Opening Day on November 14th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Elizabeth Caruthers Park!

From the gifts to the grub, do you ever wish that you could get all of your holiday preparations done in one place? Well, now you can score seasonal produce, grab handmade ceramic mugs, and pick up a freshly baked pie all at the new South Waterfront Winter Farmers Market!

That’s right, for the first time ever the farmers market fun won’t stop at the end of October. The South Waterfront Winter Farmers Market will be held on the second Thursday of the month from November 2019-February 2020 so that you can stock up on your favorite foods and handmade gifts just in time for the holidays.

The Winter Market will still be held at Elizabeth Caruthers Park, but due to the lack of daylight during the winter months, it will take place from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on November 14th, December 12th, January 9th, and February 13th.

Farm Fresh Finds and Gourmet Grub

Make sure to mark your calendars since you won’t want to miss out on our all-star lineup of food and craft artisans at the winter market. You will find many of your favorite summer farmers market fare like seasonal vegetables from Crooked Furrow Farm and Rainbow Produce, Scratch Meats’ handmade sausages, and of course, freshly popped kettle corn made by Munchy’s.

Even Dragonfly Forge—our expert knife sharpener—will be at the market in November, December, and February so that you can get your knives in tip top shape for the holiday season!

You can also expect to see many exciting new vendors at the winter market. If you’re looking for a late breakfast, you’ll be able to nosh on a traditional New York style hand-rolled bagel from Henry Higgins Boiled Bagels or dive into a cheesy-egg breakfast burrito made by the pros at Nourishment.

Craft Corner

There will also be all types of crafts at the winter market, including mosaic art jewelry made by Moth & Twig, pottery from Lala House Ceramics as well as Phyllis Koessler, and handmade crochet items a la Beanie Kat. And on January 9th, we’ll even have a personal pet portraitist Jori Page join us so that you can adore your furry friends in art form.We can’t wait to introduce this festive version of the farmers market to you and look forward to seeing you there!
