Head Ice Cream Maker, Tyler Malek, interpreted the menus of chefs Traci Des Jardins, Renee Erickson, Sara Kramer, Brian Malarkey, and Gabriel Rucker into ice cream with his June Chef Collaboration series
PORTLAND, Ore. (May 10, 2018) – Salt & Straw is offering a taste of some of the West Coast’s’ best chefs through their ice cream menu this June. Their Chef Collaboration Series features ice cream made with a lineup of award-winning chefs. For this summer series, Salt & Straw Ice Cream founders, cousins Kim and Tyler Malek, invited some of their favorite chef friends from neighborhoods near their local scoop shops up and down the West Coast to collaborate on an ice cream flavor. Head Ice Cream Maker, Tyler Malek, worked closely with each chef to interpret one of their signature dishes into an ice cream flavor. The full lineup will include Chefs Traci Des Jardins (Jardinière, San Francisco), Renee Erickson (Walrus & the Carpenter, Seattle), Sara Kramer (Kismet, Los Angeles), Brian Malarkey (Herb & Wood, San Diego), and Gabriel Rucker (Le Pigeon, Portland). Proceeds of the menu will benefit Share Our Strength, working to fight childhood hunger.
