The 5th Annual Saké Fest PDX highlights food made by local chefs paired with international and local saké.
PORTLAND, Ore. – May 20, 2015 – Downtown Portland’s Sentinel Hotel welcomes nearly 40 Portland chefs and International saké producers on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Saké Fest PDX attendees will have the opportunity to pair gourmet food with saké, a drink as versatile as wine or beer. “There will be dozens of saké varieties, including Oregon’s own SakéOne based in Forest Grove,” said Marcus V. Pakiser, Saké Fest PDX spokesperson and internationally renowned saké educator.
Pakiser continued, “Samples of Japanese and American brands and premium and several rare saké will be available, as will regionally micro brewed ‘jizake,’ which means small, regional saké brewer. Talented, local chefs from area restaurants and shops will prepare and serve a selection of appetizers, entrée samples, artisan chocolates, cheeses and foods that complement different types of saké.”

Marcus V. Pakiser, Saké Fest PDX’s saké educator, will personally guide the saké pairing for each of your three dinner courses. Jake’s Catering is preparing a delicious menu of Pacific Northwest & Continental American cuisine easily paired with any saké.
