Rogue Spirits Wins Big at San Francisco World Spirits Competition
Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey Wins Double Gold for the Second Time,
Dead Guy Whiskey and Farmhouse Gin Earn a Silver

NEWPORT, Ore. (May 5, 2021) — Rogue Spirits, one of the original craft distilleries in the country, takes home top honors at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Rogue’s Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey brought home the Double Gold for the second time in three years and Rogue also earned silver for both Dead Guy Whiskey and Farmhouse Gin.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), the second oldest competition of its kind, is one of the most influential competitions due to the legacy, integrity and experience behind the judging process. Each year, the prestigious panel of judges receives and tastes over 1,000 whiskey entries and awards medals to the top products.  Its judges are considered world class and its medals and awards are ranked among the world’s most prestigious.

A double gold award is the highest medal available in this competition and is awarded to the entries that receive a gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel. These are among the finest products in the world.

“We’ve been distilling spirits on the Oregon Coast for decades and are honored to be recognized by this impressive panel of judges for our hard work and dedication to the craft,” says Dharma Tamm, Rogue President. “We’re especially proud to earn the highest honors for our Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey. This product is the culmination of all things Rogue and is a testament to the DIY ethos that guides our company and culture.”

Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey is an American Single Malt whiskey that is distilled at Rogue’s distillery on the Oregon Coast, then aged in first use oak barrels built by hand at Rogue’s cooperage, Rolling Thunder Barrel Works. After the initial aging process, the whiskey is then finished in barrels that previously aged Rogue’s Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout. Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey combines the spice and citrus tones of Oregon Oak, the flavor of the original Rogue whiskey and the deep, dark tones from the stout. It is a big, bold whiskey that exemplifies the quality and creativeness of the burgeoning American Single Malt category. With only 700 cases made a year, this limited-edition and award-winning whiskey is truly one-of-a-kind.

Rolling Thunder Stouted Whiskey is available for sale at Rogue pubs throughout Oregon and online for national shipping and local Portland delivery at rogue.com/shop.
