It’s official: Right now, as of 9am ET / 6am PT, you can register for a Restaurant Revitalization Fund account at restaurants.sba.gov. We encourage you to go there today to begin your registration. This will allow you to establish basics like your username and password so you’re ready to apply on Monday. Please note that you do not need to register beforehand on the Small Business Administration (SBA) site if you plan to apply through Toast or Square (other POS partners still apply through SBA).
Applications will open on Monday, May 3rd at 12pm ET / 9am PT. The online application will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted. We recommend applying as early as possible. In addition to creating an account, please take time to prepare your application materials today. A sample application and the SBA’s official guidance are detailed here, and you can watch their video on how to apply here.
All businesses can and should apply on Monday. Due to limited funds and the first-come, first-served basis, the earliest possible submission of your application is the best way to maximize your chance of receiving the grant. The law mandates a 21 day priority window for businesses owned and controlled by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The SBA has indicated it will fund those applications first, as required.
For assistance preparing your application, please reach out to the SBA with any questions. Call center support is available at 1-844-279-8898 (hours: Monday-Friday 8am-8pm ET), and the SBA knowledge base is linked here.
