Quaintrelle’s May Winemaker Dinner: Pam Walden, Willful Wine Co.

Posted April 26, 2017

QUAINTRELLE’S MAY WINEMAKER DINNER WELCOMES PAM WALDEN OF WILLFUL WINE CO.

Four-course, family-style seasonal menu with wine pairings, $75

April 26, 2017 – Portland, OR – Quaintrelle will host Pam Walden, owner and winemaker of Willful Wine Company, as part of its monthly winemaker dinner series. Join us on Wednesday, May 17th for a seasonal four-course, family-style dinner prepared by Executive Chef Bill Wallender and paired with Walden’s wines. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $75, including gratuity, food and wine pairings. For reservations, please call Quaintrelle at 503-200-5787.

Walden’s wines are made using carefully managed Oregon grapes and are fermented using native, wild yeasts. This process creates a more complex wine and produces the greatest expression of the terroir. She uses new oak to maintain focus on the fruit and strives to create wines that are elegant, nuanced and cellar-worthy. Willful Wine Company was recently named “Oregon Winery to Watch” by Wine Press NW Magazine for 2017.

“Pam carefully sources her fruit from around the Willamette Valley to craft an excellent example of Oregon’s unique Pinot Noir style,” says Matt Hensel, cork-puller at Quaintrelle. “Her yearly varietal experiment has been fun to watch and the 2012 Cabernet Franc was amazing.”

  • Thought I’d try this cake - Tangerine Almond Cake with Bay Citrus from 177MilkStreet.com. Quite nice. Yes, sloppy almond placement. Used the zest from 5 oranges. Syrup of orange and sugar infused with bay leaf over the top. Better than I expected.
