Great Pumpkin at King & Lents International Sunday, October 25th
Come and get your pumpkin! Winters Farm planted pumpkins, galore. We’ll have pumpkins available for you on Sunday for a small donation – no one will be turned away for a lack of funds. At PSU, there will be NO Great Pumpkin event this season; NO CARVING this year and no costume parade. See us this Sunday to grab a pumpkin to take home to carve!
Double Up Food Bucks Returns to PSU Farmers Market
SNAP benefits can be used to shop PSU Farmers Market year-round. Starting in November, shoppers with SNAP benefits can double their money (up to $10 each day) by visiting the market Information booth. Double Up Food Bucks provides a match to funds for spending on fruits, vegetables, mushrooms and nuts. And there is plenty to choose from all winter long!
Hot Peppers Storage Tip Do not wash peppers until you are just about to use them. Store them in the refrigerator vegetable crisper in a perforated plastic bag, where they will keep for up to 1 to 2 weeks. If you’re storing a pepper that’s been cut open, just let it lie loose, cut side up, in your vegetable drawer (if it’s bagged, the edges will quickly turn slimy).

What We’re Reading
PFM and Farmers Market Fund staff have teamed up for a monthly reading and discussion club, with the goal of moving our equity and food justice work forward by learning about anti-racism, historic disparities in food and farming in Oregon and the United States, and the current food justice movement.
