Since opening in 2017, Beaux Berry has earned a cult following for its two styles of ice cream – real fruit and handmade. The real fruit offering is its take on a quintessential New Zealand-style ice cream. Each serving is made-to-order using a special machine imported from the island nation. It blends ice cream with Oregon berries – marionberry, raspberry, strawberry, or blueberry – and other mix-ins to create a unique treat with a smooth, soft serve-like texture.
Beaux Berry’s expansion into Northeast Portland follows its recent purchase of Scoop Handmade Ice Cream. This move came naturally for the owners of the two companies, who are friends and former business partners. It means Beaux Berry will continue to make and serve Scoop’s popular flavors, including Churro Sabroso™, Oatmeal and Brown Sugar and Lemon Chiffon.“We’re honored to carry on the Scoop legacy,”saidBeth Czischke, co-owner of Beaux Berry. “We recognized we shared a love for ice cream and an unwavering commitment to high-quality ingredients, so we partnered to offer Scoop’s ice cream at Beaux Berry.” Sean Sitton, Scoop’s former owner, wouldn’t want it any other way, “I chose not to put my company up for sale. Instead, I wanted to handpick my successors who would be dedicated to the same values I hold.”
Kevin Gillette and Beth Czischke are the husband and wife team behind Beaux Berry. Beth fell in love with real fruit ice cream while road-tripping through New Zealand and decided to bring it back to Portland.
