Portland SNAP-Ed Team & the Food Hero Program
We are thrilled to continue our long-time partnership with Portland SNAP-Ed for another season! It’s wonderful to have them back at King & Kenton Farmers Markets educating young shoppers with their free weekly nutrition education program, Food Hero at the Farmers Market.
Every week, the Portland SNAP-Ed team takes young shoppers through fun food-related activities like hands-on cooking, interactive games, planting seeds and more. Stop by the Food Hero booth near the market info booths at the King & Kenton Farmers Markets with your kids and let the fun (and learning) begin!

We are seeking people to fill two volunteer roles:
This position works at our main office for a few hours a week now through October to count market tokens and help out with office tasks. Market Scouts Assistant Market Scouts, our youth education program at Lents International Farmers Market, provides a fun opportunity for kids (ages 3 – 12) to engage in the local food system through interactive games & demonstrations. Volunteers engage with kids and guide them through the brief weekly educational activity.
Market Scout Assistant shifts are on Sundays at the Lents International Farmers Market – either from 8:45 am – 11:30 am or 11:30 am – 2:15 pm through November 20.Interested to learn more?
We Are Looking To Fill An
Accounting & Office Assistant Position
The Accounting & Office Assistant (AOA) will support the Market Accountant & Office Manager with various accounting and office functions. This position will be assigned regular weekly and monthly responsibilities at our office. Additionally, the AOA will assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing office supplies, sharing in light office cleaning, organization, and other office support duties.
Weekly schedules will vary with the seasonality of markets, including more work hours from May to October and fewer hours from November to April.
