Portland Cider Co. Welcomes Summer with Annual Luau

May 14, 2019

Drink cider out of a fresh pineapple while eating Hawaiian food and listening to island music

CLACKAMAS, Ore. – May 14, 2019 – Portland Cider Co. is kicking off summer with its annual Portland Cider Luau featuring a pineapple cider bar, island tunes, hula dancers, and a Hawaiian food menu. The all-ages event will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 12pm to 6pm at the Clackamas Pub & Cidery, located at 8925 SE Jannsen Rd, Bldg. F.

Attendees can drink cider out of a whole pineapple and sample five different pineapple-themed ciders on tap, including Pineapple Rosé, 100% Pineapple, Passion Fruit Pineapple, Tropical Sangria, and Hop’ Rageous with freshly blended pineapple juice.

There will also be live Hawaiian island musical performances and hula dancers between 3pm and 5pm, including hula taught by respected Kumu Hula (master teachers in the art of hula) from Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest in partnership with the Ke Kukui Foundation.

A Hawaiian food menu made by Portland Cider’s chefs will feature traditional Hawaiian plates of Huli Huli chicken, Kalua pork, mac salad, and more. There will also be a tropical themed photo booth for memories and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.

Admission into the event is free. Cider and food are available for purchase on-site without advance tickets, but those who wish to drink their ciders out of a whole pineapple are highly encouraged to purchase advance tickets to reserve the fruit. There are two packages available through Merc Tickets: the Holoʻokoʻa Ohana ($23) which includes a pineapple, two pint fills, and one Hawaiian meal; or the Pineapi Aloha ($9) which includes a pineapple and one pint fill.

Following the luau, Portland Cider will be showing the Portland Timbers home opener against Los Angeles FC starting at 7:30pm.
