Urban Farmer’s Executive Chef Matt Christianson and Master Sommelier Thomas Price marry Tails & Trotters pork and Pacific Northwest wine at dinner on February 28
On Wednesday, February 28, Portland’s modern farm-to-table steakhouse, Urban Farmer (525 SW Morrison St.), partners with Jackson Family Wines to host Pork & Pinot at The Farm, a farm-inspired four-course dinner with regional wine pairings. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Urban Farmer’s Executive Chef Matt Christianson and Master Sommelier Thomas Price of Jackson Family Wines guide patrons through a carefully paired “nose-to-tail” menu that highlights pork’s sweet, nutty, and smoky flavors against the soft fruitiness and subtle acid of pinot noir. The menu emphasizes many hyper-local ingredients harvested directly from the restaurant’s hydroponic and rooftop gardens and the mushroom incubator, including shiitake mushrooms, broccoli greens, peppers, and sage.
