Piccone’s Corner chef Nic Maraziti previews menu items from the new restaurant and butcher shop opening April 2020

PORTLAND, Ore. – January 8, 2020 – Piccone’s Corner chef Nic Maraziti and head butcher Noah Grobart are collaborating with Stone Soup PDX, Serenade PDX and Helioterra Wines and Alter Ego Cider for 2020 pop-up events in January and February. The pop-up events will feature a sneak peek of some of select menu items from the new Italian restaurant and craft butcher shop opening in NE Portland in April 2020.

Dinner plus live concert featuring musicians Luke Price and Jonathan Trawick

Dinner Menu:

  • Welcome cocktail from Angel’s Envy Bourbon
  • Winter chicory Caesar salad, anchovies, torn bread, extra parmigiana
  • Housemade fusilli with Wallow & Root sausage and bean ragu
  • Flame-roasted Wallow & Root porchetta, crispy vegetables, pork gravy
  • Almond semifreddo, amaretto caramel, almond cookie

Piccone’s Corner chef Nic Maraziti will join Chef Scott Dolich of Stone Soup PDX for a butchery class to learn how to portion a ½ hog. Select cuts will be available to purchase during a live auction, as well as events including dinner for two at Piccone’s Corner (April 2020).

About Piccone’s Corner

Butcher and heritage hog farmer Austin Piccone will open Piccone’s Corner, a new neighborhood butcher shop, restaurant and bar, in April 2020 at 3434 NE Sandy Blvd. The 2,400-square-foot space will house a full-service butcher shop with whole-animal butchery and locally sourced meat from their local farm, Wallow & Root; cured Italian salumi, including culatello, fiochetto, nduja, guanciale, pancetta and coppa; and a full-service bar and restaurant with 42 seats open for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night snacking. The Piccone’s Corner culinary team includes owner and farmer Austin Piccone, chef Nic Maraziti, (Ava Gene’s and Bar Casa Vale) and head butcher Noah Grobart (Old Salt Marketplace).
