Paddy’s St. Patrick’s Festival

March 1, 2019

PADDY’S BAR & GRILL TO HOST ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVAL

Portion of proceeds benefit Children’s Cancer Association

Paddy’s Bar & Grill, Portland’s oldest Irish pub, is proud to host their annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival fundraiser, on March 16 & 17th, 2019. Celebrate Irish culture at Paddy’s 2-day tented street festival with live Irish bands, traditional bagpipers, Irish dancers and a great community presence. Two lucky leprechauns will win a 3-day trip for two to Ireland complete with airfare, lodging and tour of Guinness brewery with a raffle benefitting the festival’s official charity partner, the Children’s Cancer Association.

Enjoy your favorites from the pub, featuring Guinness and Kilbeggan drink specials, Paddy’s signature Irish coffee, or choose a premium whiskey for house cocktails from their legendary wall with more than 600 spirits. Paddy’s anticipates serving over 1000 lbs of corned beef and cabbage, and more than 100 kegs of Guinness and over 50 gallons of Irish coffee throughout the weekend!

Paddy’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival is a tented street party located adjacent to the pub, on SW Yamhill, conveniently close to the SW 1st and Yamhill Max Station. The event is family friendly until 8:00pm. Kids 12 and under are free!

The festivities begin Saturday, March 16th at 11am in the pub, and 4pm in the event tent. Traditional Irish fare such as corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd’s pie will be served, along with Paddy’s favorites such as Guinness Irish stew and Irish nachos. Live entertainment starts at 4pm with a $15 cover, with performances including Irish dancers, bagpipers, and music by The Galway Ramblers, The Blarney Pilgrims, and headliner, The Donegal Tinkers.

Paddy’s is open early Sunday, March 17th, at 8am in the pub, and 9am in the event tent, serving an Irish breakfast with specials such as corned beef hash, and Irish breakfast bowls with O’Brian potatoes, scrambled eggs, and banger sausages. Enjoy live Irish music all day by the Boys of Malin, The Galway Ramblers, The Blarney Pilgrims, and The Donegal Tinkers, with a $15 cover starting at 12:30pm. Irish dance will be performed by Murray School of Irish Dance and An Daire Irish Dancers.

2019 marks Paddy’s 10th year partnering with The Children’s Cancer Association (CCA), one of the largest children’s healthcare organizations in the Pacific Northwest. Funds raised from this annual event support the CCA’s JoyRx program, which provides support to seriously ill children and their families. Since partnering with the CCA, Paddy’s Annual St. Patrick’s Festival has raised more than $75,000 in donations to the CCA, and hopes to break $100,000 mark for total donations to the CCA this year!

Paddy’s co-owner, Josh Johnston encourages Portlanders to visit the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. “The whole purpose of Paddy’s is to connect people. St Patrick’s Day is one way we celebrate this commitment. We get to thank our community, raise money for a great cause, and have way too much fun in the process.”
