Friday Farm Happy Hour? Yes, please!
There’s still space on our ramble through one of our favorite farms this Friday, the 28th. Join us!
Ever wonder where all those beautiful blueberries come from? How small farms can grow flowers and vegetables and fruits and animals together in harmony – organically? Join us for an exclusive tour through one of our favorite local farms, Our Table Cooperative, and take a stroll through their beautiful organic acres with us!
We have a few spots left for our ramble through the fields this Friday. Meet us on the farm for a tour at 2 p.m. and we’ll stroll, ending with happy hour and snacks. Space is limited, so sign up soon or email our event manager at Julierubinette@gmail.com and join us!
The berries are coming! We have Boysen-, Tay- and Loganberries, peak-of-the-season red and golden raspberries and Silvan blackberries. By the weekend, the first Marion berries will land, too! The key to berry season? Don’t get overwhelmed, but don’t miss it! Each berry has only a week or three of peak fruit – so make pie!
Ready to grill? So are the squashes! Little, adorable varieties of zucchini and squash are rolling around our shelves waiting to be sliced, smothered in garlic oil and grilled right up! One favorite trick for a more substantial salad is to layer grilled summer squash, fresh mozzarella and basil for a great take on the caprese salad
Did someone mention tomatoes? Yes! Local cherry tomatoes have landed. These early little gems of flavor are perfect for your July 4th pasta salad, or tossed with early cucumbers (also here!), herbs and farro for a lovely picnic-ready dish. Want to amp up the flavor? (not that they need it!) Try making a cherry tomato confit!
Eat The Season
Early July is fast and furious with the new produce, and it can be hard to keep up! We’re here to help: Josh was on AM Northwest this week with a primer on what to look for as you shop for your Independence Day treats. More of a reader? One of our favorite local writers sat down with Josh to do a full rundown on what to look for right now.
As always, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are looking
