Oregon Wine Month Celebrations

Every May, Oregon Wine Month showcases the incredible diversity of Oregon wines and the talents of our state’s winemakers. In Portland and the Willamette Valley, events and specials provide unique opportunities to taste the incomparable quality, and in some cases, meet the winemakers themselves. Some of the city’s best restaurants are celebrating, so you can, too.

 

Anne Amie Vineyards

March–December: Open daily, 10am-5pm, with the last tasting starting at 4:45pm
Anne Amie Vineyards is one of Oregon’s most storied vineyards, and this year marks their 20th anniversary! As part of their year-long celebration, and during Oregon Wine Month, they’ll be hosting a pop-up on Sunday, May 19 at La Moule. From 5-7pm, Anne Amie will pour complimentary wine alongside hors d’ oeuvres. On Friday, May 24, Anne Amie will be at Canopy Portland | Pearl District pouring complimentary tastings, as the hotel’s featured winemaker for the last week of Oregon Wine Month!
Bhuna

For Oregon Wine Month, Bhuna is offering $5 glasses and $22 bottles of their 2017 Martin Woods Willamette Valley Rosé and their Big Salt white wine from OVUM Wines. Bhuna is an upscale, fast casual Indian restaurant, with a carefully thought-out and concise menu dedicated to utilizing Pacific Northwest ingredients. The acclaimed once pop-up has been described as addictive, with layered and complex flavors from Chef Deepak Kaul, who creates the Kashmiri menu of his childhood. For Oregon Wine Month, Canopy Portland Pearl District is dedicating their complimentary Friday Night Flight Series to Oregon Wineries! Plus, they’re also offering $7 glasses of Anne Amie Amrita Bubbly all month long. Come by the restaurant, located adjacent to Canopy’s lobby, each Friday to taste your way through a new flight of Oregon wines.
May 3rd: Montinore Estate
Established in 1982, Montinore Estates is the largest producer in the country of certified estate wines made from Biodynamic grapes.
May 10th: REX HILL & A to Z Wineworks
REX HILL is a certified B Corp winery with more than 30 years experience making wine. A to Z Wineworks is a certified B Corp winery, producing fun, food-friendly wines.
May 17th: Woven Wineworks
Woven Wineworks prides itself on small and thoughtful production of exceptional wines, made with passion. It now has a new urban winery tasting room in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District.
May 24th:  Anne Amie Vineyards
Anne Amie Vineyards is a storied Oregon winery with a 20-year history, producing exceptional Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.

The Dame Collective features chefs-in-residence, with thoughtful service, focused natural wine list and bottle shop. During Oregon Wine Month, Dame is offering $10 flights of Oregon wine in the bottle shop during bottle shop hours and flights for $15 during dinner service. Guests can enjoy pours of Division Wine Co.’s Division-Villages Béton, Swick Wines’ Only Zuul, and Division Wine Co.’s Division-Villages Sauvignon Blanc. Ross & Bee Maloof Wines will be rotated in during the second half of the month. Open every evening, Dame Collective invites chefs into the kitchen for extended residencies, curating dinner menus and collaborating with Dame’s natural wine program. Open Sunday-Wednesday, Estes from Chef Patrick McKee is born from Italian family roots, seasonality and technique. Open Thursday-Saturday, Pasture is a restaurant and whole animal butcher that celebrates local agriculture and ethical animal husbandry from Chef-Butcher-Owner Kei Ohdera and Butcher-Owner John Schaible.

Little Bird

Little Bird Bistro is among downtown Portland’s most approachable yet innovative lunch, dinner, happy hour and late-night dining options—a joint venture between two-time James Beard Award winning Chef Gabriel Rucker and Co-Owner Andrew Fortgang. With regularly changing dishes, elegant desserts and an extensive wine list and bar program, it’s a great pick for Oregon Wine Month. For those interested in going beyond the wine list, Little Bird Bistro is also hosting two winemaking dinners. On Monday, May 20 at 6pm, the Flâneur Wines dinner will feature Aligoté wines paired alongside 2 courses and 1 cheese course, with discussion around the often overlooked Burgundian varietal and how it speaks through Oregon’s soil types. On Wednesday, May 22 at 6pm, the Goodfellow Family Cellars wine dinner will feature Goodfellow’s single-vineyard bottlings that exemplify the diversity of terroir found within the Willamette Valley, paired alongside 3 courses and 1 cheese course. Purchase Tickets
