Oregon Cider Week June 21- July 1 2018

Posted June 19, 2018

Oregon Cider Week starts Thursday!

11-days of learning, drinking, and celebrating the best place to drink cider nationwide!

Our goal is to have fun, enjoying America’s earliest alcohol, and keep Johnny Appleseed’s work–planting apples for cider, of course!–alive. Help us toast the golden beverage we love so much.

Did you know Powells Books, Blue Star Donuts, and Ned Ludd Restaurant are all a part of the festivities?

Thursday kicks us off! Celebrate the summer equinox and bounty of the Pacific Northwest region, learning about how Finnriver Cidery farms and ferments as a certified Organic, Salmon Safe Farm and B Corporation. Grab a flight with them at Backyard Social in Portland. Event details here. 1859 Cider will also be throwing a party that night in Salem, releasing their Mt Hood Strawberry cider at Make Music Day!

Wildcraft Ciderworks is throwing a Snakebite Flight Night at their taproom in Eugene Friday night where they’ve combined some very cool ciders and beers to make this traditional English beverage.

The weekend brings 9 more events! A festival on Bauman Cider’s century old farm, live music in Hood River, the Fruit Cider Invitational at Cider Riot, and Cirque d’Schilling (an adult only circus themed party), to name a few. New Seasons Market loves cider so much, they’re putting it on sale all weekend!  20% off from June 22-24th

Next week is OMSI’s After Dark Ciderfest, which will surely sell out, so buy your tickets early, and much much more.

Oregon Cider Week’s largest event provides a chance to sample more than 150 selections from around the world at Cider Summit Portland on June 29 and 30. Buy early to save $.

Next week’s events:

From festivals to bottle releases, to bike rides, and cider cocktails, you’re sure to find an event you won’t want to miss. Check out the full list of 50+ events on our facebook page – CALENDAR

  • Thought I’d try this cake - Tangerine Almond Cake with Bay Citrus from 177MilkStreet.com. Quite nice. Yes, sloppy almond placement. Used the zest from 5 oranges. Syrup of orange and sugar infused with bay leaf over the top. Better than I expected.
  • Chicken karaage at Kizuki Ramen in Beaverton. Was... just fine
  • Jjin Man Doo at Spring Restaurant in Beaverton (dumplings with pork and vegetables)
  • Nice “secret” Korean Restaurant above the grocery store in downtown Beaverton. Been frequenting it quite a bit
