Opening 4/16! Creative Culture – new family-friendly Craft Studio, Gourmet Milkshakes and Plant Bar

April 5, 2022

Creative Culture PDX Brings Family-Friendly Craft Studio, Plant Bar & Gourmet Milkshakes to NE Portland!

Grand Opening Celebration of Creative Culture is Saturday, April 16

Creative Culture, a new family-friendly DIY craft studio, plant bar, and gourmet milkshake bar will open in NE Portland’s Sullivan’s Gulch neighborhood. Starting April 16th, 2022 they will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday 12pm to 5pm.

Creative Culture will host a spring-themed Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 16th from 10am-9pm, to welcome the neighbrohood into their space. In addition to their own DIY crafts and milkshakes, the opening party will feature live music, artists and a variety of creative activities in their new Portland studio. The Grand Opening is free to attend and open to the public.

Creative Culture offers crafts for all ages to enjoy, including paint your own pottery, DIY craft kits, wood burning, wreath bar and string art. Customers can also explore the Plant Bar to create  decorative pots with succulents and seasonal plants of their choice. All drop-in projects are self-guided and include instructions, tools, and the materials needed to successfully create the chosen project. Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations are accepted for groups of 8 or more. The studio also hosts private events and guided craft workshops.

Creative Culture’s menu features over-the-top, photo-worthy and mouth watering milkshakes in 8 flavors, blended and piled high with sweets, chocolates, cakes, and candies. A variety of flavors make up their everyday menu, as well as seasonal flavors for holidays and special events.

Customers are also welcome to bring their own food and drink into Creative Culture to enjoy while they craft.

Dell Ann Upp is the owner of Creative Culture. She founded the first Creative Culture in her hometown of Kansas City in 2020 as a way for her and her daughter (now 11 years old) to get out of the house and get creative during the pandemic. Her daughter is credited with coming up with the unique menu of milkshakes, her favorite treat. When Creative Culture KC proved to be a huge hit with local families, they opened a second location in Kansas City. They are excited to now open their third location, choosing Portland because of the city’s vibrant craft community and Upp living part time in the city with her partner, Jason who is a Portland realtor and helped find the perfect studio location.

Creative Culture is located at 1448 NE 28th Ave, Portland, Oregon 97232. Starting April 16th, 2022 they will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 9pm, and Sunday 12pm to 5pm.
