I discovered these two outstanding coffees by way of Thu Pham, the superwoman behind Càphê, Philadelphia’s only Vietnamese roastery.
I first tried Vietnamese Coffee several years ago on a trip to Ho Chi Minh City. I’ve been searching for the authentic stuff ever since. Then I came across Thu and her amazing coffee. Thu expertly blends robusta beans from Vietnam and arabica beans from northern Thailand.
She roasts the beans until they’re super dark, smoky, and chocolatey. Just the aroma of the beans makes my knees knock!
We sell everything you need to brew this coffee the same way they do it in the cafes of Vietnam. You’ll need a stainless steel brew filter (a phin) that sits on top of a glass. And also a can of sweetened condensed milk.
When you mix the dark smoky coffee with the sweetened condensed milk, that’s when the magic happens. Vroom! Vroom!
