New Things, Just This Month from Canard

February 7, 2019

Visiting Winemakers in February

Join us at Canard on Wednesday, February 20, from 7pm – 10pm to meet two of Beaujolais’ most exciting young winemakers — Julien Duport and Nicolas Chemarin. Nicolas hails from the village of Marchampt, where his beguiling Le Rocher comes from, and has parcels in Regnie and Morgon, crafting wines of balance and complexity. Julien makes wine from Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly, from which he coaxes vibrant fruit and a lively sense of mineral-driven terroir. Nicolas and Julien will be hanging around to pour their wines and talk about what is happening in Beaujolais these days. We will be offering our normal menus that evening, as well as a selection of their wines for purchase by the glass.

Chocolate for Congo

Canard is excited to participate in Chocolate for Congo, running now through the end of February. We’re serving our chocolate coconut cream pie for the occasion, and giving $1 from each sale to the Eastern Congo Initiative — a non-profit focused on grant-making and advocacy with and for the people of Eastern Congo. The event is celebrating its 6th year, and participating restaurants across Portland are offering special chocolate desserts to benefit the cause, including our sister restaurants Little Bird and Le Pigeon. So this month, be sure not to skip dessert.

Introducing Roasted Half Dungeness Crab

We’re welcoming something new to the menu from the mind and cravings of our Chef de cuisine, Taylor Daugherty. The Roasted Half Dungeness Crab includes shellfish butter, remoulade potato salad, and rolls. Plus plenty of napkins, so you can get cracking.

Canard is walk-in only.
