New Beer Collaboration, Sandwich Special and More!

February 18, 2022

The Weekly What’s Up 2.18.22!

We are halfway through February already and some of the days are feeling like spring. I know we are not there yet, but we are getting closer. Closer to warm days, closer to no masks and closer to a bit more normal reality. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, you should treat yourself to a visit to the Bottle Shop. We’ve got a great new special (see below) and new beers and wines arriving daily. Look forward to seeing you soon. Cheers!

From the Kitchen

Kevin has out done himself with this week’s Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. He’s taken a 6 oz. organic chicken breast and topped it with smoked ham and havarti. Then added lettuce, tomato, onion and dijonnaise on a delicious ciabatta roll. What you get is an outstandingly tasty sandwich that is a must have. I’ve had it several times already. Come hungry, it’s a hearty one. Enjoy!

Oracle Cabernet Sauvignon

I admit that I am partial to Old World wines. I tend to gravitate to Italy and Spain over New World wines. However, when you find a good value, you’ve got to give it some credit. This Cabernet out of Mendocino is a great value at $18. Fuller bodied with smooth tannins, hints of herbs throughout and dark cherry notes. They age a small portion in new French oak, which compliments the fruit, not masks it. Great balance and a straight up good deal.

A Great Collaboration

This new collaboration comes from one of Washington’s top breweries, Bale Breaker, and one of Oregon’s top breweries, Barley Brown’s. When you combine these two amazing powers together, you get a great beer. This West Coast style IPA is full of citrus with hints of tropical notes and pine. It is super well balanced and comes in at 7.1% ABV. Grab yourself one before they disappear. They’re well worth it.
