Negroni Competition Winners + You’re Invited to a Party!

May 13, 2019

THE COMPETITION RESULTS ARE IN!

We hosted our 3rd annual cocktail competition to select the 12 featured Negroni at this year’s event.  After receiving 50 submissions, the first round of finalists was selected when the judges reviewed the cocktails in menu format (anonymously) then rated each one based on their likelihood of ordering them at a bar (among other interests and preferences).

The 25 top-scoring Negroni from that round were then recreated at a tasting panel yesterday where the same judges anonymously sipped through each one taking into account taste, presentation, creativity, and functionality.  After many hours of careful consideration and revisiting of recipes, they came out the other side with 12 winners.

It’s certainly possible that every cocktail we tasted could have won, but at the end of the day only the top 12 can make it through. We are so very grateful to everyone who threw their bar spoon in the ring for this fun event, and we hope to see you at the party!

The bartenders and bars below will be featured at the 9th Negroni Social on Sunday, June 23 as well as for one month on the Negroni of the Month menu at Nostrana (where this whole thing started almost a decade ago)!

JOIN US TOMORROW AT ENOTECA!

We’re joining with Haus Alpenz (which is now a part of Casa Bruno) for an industry happy hour tomorrow Tuesday, May 14 from 4:00-6:00pm.

Haus Alpenz educator Amy Cairns will be onsite to show off their huge portfolio of amari, vermouth and all things bitter — to help you dial in your Negroni game.  And, as one of our biggest sponsors year after year (and fellow lovers of bitter spirits) we’re excited to have Haus Alpenz in town for this event!

Antipasti and a Haus Alpenz tasting will be ‘on the Haus’! (Get it?) Plus, pitchers of spritz to share and a full menu of Enoteca’s great grape-drinks will be available for sale.

There might be a little rain in the forecast tomorrow,  but we’re still down with a spritz party, right?

No RSVP needed.  Just come on in and show some love between 4pm-6pm.
