ABOUT THE EVENT

Benriach was founded by John Duff in 1898, creating an intriguing and unique Speyside single malt Scotch whisky. The distillery is on the site of the old Riach farm of north Speyside, drawing water from a mineral-rich aquifer, running deep beneath the distillery. Benriach distills 3 styles of whisky: classic unpeated, Highland peated, and triple distilled.

The Smoky Ten is a three cask matured Scotch, using malted barley smoked with Highland peat. This wood rich Highland peat imparts distinctly sweet and smoky notes, which is then matured in a combination of bourbon barrels, Jamaican rum casks, and toasted virgin oak. The Twelve is matured for 12 years in a combination of sherry casks, bourbon barrels and port casks. Each cask is then blended together, with strong notes of sherry rich single malt, baked fruit, maple honey and cocoa.

We welcome members and guests to join us for our next cocktail class with Benriach Scotch whisky! MWL veteran bartenders will guide you through one stirred cocktail and one shaken cocktail with our two featured spirits.

Cocktails will be accompanied by light bites from executive chef, Robert Kelley. Given the nature of the event all seating will be communal.

We are continuing to follow safety guidelines and ask all attendees to provide proof of vaccination with a valid ID at check in.

We look forward to hosting you!

Sincerely,
Your friends at the Library
