Mushroom Dinner and Foraging Talk on Wednesday October 4th 6.30pm at Bergerac / $70 per person
Chef-Owner Joris Barbaray of Bergerac & Rachel Zoller of Yellow Eleanor collaborate to offer a 4-course mushroom-centric menu alongside a talk about foraging for mushrooms in the Pacific North West
The menu celebrates a different mushroom for each course and features porcini, chanterelles, black trumpet and candy cap mushrooms.
As a Pacific Northwest native, Rachel Zoller of YellowElanor (http://www.yellowelanor.com) grew up exploring the off trail depths of the forest and she teaches mushroom foraging workshops and lectures throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is an active member of the Oregon Mycological Society, leading field trips and teaching for a variety of their events. Rachel runs a small, but resourceful blog/website and has a YouTube page that features how to identify key edible mushrooms and other fungi facts.
Joris Barbaray is co-owner and Head Chef at Bergerac which opened in October 2015 serving from scratch French food with a heavy emphasis on dishes from his home town of Bergerac in the South West of France. Quotes from Yelp & Google
“ A fantastic experience. I had the roasted beet salad and the duck confit, both of which were done exceedingly
well. The atmosphere was pleasant, as it was quiet and somewhat quaint. Service was great. And the
food…the food was fantastic. I will certainly be back.”
“Very classy place. The wine was incredible and the food was breathtaking. The waiters are very knowledgeable
about the menu options and gave great advice on pairings. Perfect for a class date night.”
