The Library is thrilled to announce our Wild Salmon Pairing Dinner in support of the Wild Salmon Center

ABOUT WILD SALMON CENTER

Wild Salmon Center (WSC) is an international, non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon. Their mission is to protect the greatest remaining wild salmon rivers in Oregon and across the North Pacific. Their President and CEO, Guido Rahr, emphasizes the importance of wild salmon, stating, “few animals have been as central to the Pacific human experience.” Over 130 species rely on the nutrient-rich marine biome that salmon provide. Healthy salmon populations indicate healthy bodies of water, which is why WSC is working to establish the Oregon Water Initiative to keep more water in rivers and streams for wild fish.

ABOUT THE DINNER

In light of our new climate reality, MWL has pledged to support WSC and their plan to revamp the state’s outdated water rights system. This quarter we are donating $1 from every seasonal cocktail sold in The Green Room to help fund WSC’s Oregon Water Initiative. In an effort to move the needle further, we are pleased to announce the Library will be co-hosting a pairing dinner with the Wild Salmon Center!

We cordially invite you to the library for a five part dining experience featuring sustainably sourced salmon and certified salmon safe wine pairings. WSC program managers will be in attendance to share why their work is invaluable to the future of sustainability in the Pacific Northwest and world wide. A portion of every ticket sold will be given to WSC, with our target goal to raise over $1,000!

Private and communal seating will be available, requests will be accommodated dependent on availability. There will be a photographer on staff for this event and photos will be shared with all our ticket holders! In the interest of public safety we politely request all attendees provide proof of vaccination with a valid ID at check in.

So please, join us to raise a glass, raise awareness, and raise funds at this special event.

We look forward to seeing you then!

Sincerely,
Your Friends at the Library
