12pm – 7pm
and by appointment
Spring feels like it has already arrived with all the flower bulbs pushing through the ground and all the sunshine we’ve enjoyed. But technically, it is still Winter so we will mix it up this month, keeping things warm and cozy with some tastings while celebrating the change of seasons as all the new releases flow into the shop.
A reminder about hours: cork is open every Friday from 12-7pm. That’s the day you can pick up your Wine Finds, restock on your favorite Viola releases and come browse the shelf for any other random needs. From Cava to Cariñena, Chianto to Vin Santo, we’ve got you covered.
If you need to pickup an order and Friday isn’t convenient, we are happy to schedule an appointment to meet you at a specific time. I’m in and out all week with wholesale deliveries and winery work so we can find a time that works for both of our schedules and make it easy on you.
As for tastings this month, we’ve got a guest winemaker this Friday and the next installment of BATTLE OF THE GRAPES with a focus on Zinfandel. All the details are below.
Hope to see you soon!
Friday tastings are held from 4-7pm unless otherwise noted.
DAY WINES with Brianne Day
Friday, March 6th . Later start time! 5pm – 7pm
We recently featured three red wines from DAY WINES and now with some Spring releases poised to hit the shelves, we’ve invited Brianne Day to stop by this Friday night and pour what she’s created for you. I think you’ll be as charmed by her as you will her wines, so please come on down between 5pm-7pm and taste some fun stuff. She’s releasing a frizzante Malvasia called Mamacita as well as a Basque-style red blend based on Tannat, Cab Franc and Côt called Running Bare. She’ll pour those along with the two Pinot Noir single-vineyard bottlings and the Syrah/Viognier that were recently featured in a Wine Finds last month. Come check them all out! (note the later start time!). $8 tasting fee, waived with the purchase of any of the wines being poured.
WEIRD ITALIAN WHITES
Friday, March 13th
The sunshine keeps my suppliers throwing a vast array of white wines at me everytime we taste. I have now amassed 14 new and interesting white wines that are definitely off the beaten path and it isn’t surprising a lot of them are Italian. So I will throw a few of them into a tasting and share the weirdness with you. Put this Friday on your calendar if you want to try Timorasso, really good Trebbiano, Pecorino (yes it’s a grape!) and Falanghina. Tasting fee is $8 for the flight, waived if you purchase a bottle of at least one of the wines poured.
BATTLE OF THE GRAPES – Zinfandel
Friday, March 20th
We’re going to put the VIOLA Zinfandel to the test this week and compare and contrast it with a few Zins from favorite producers in Sonoma like Bucklin and Sky, plus a Primitivo or two from Puglia. Come see how we do.
$8 tasting fee, waived with the purchase of any of the wines being poured.
WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR
Friday, March 27th
For the last tasting of the month, we’ll round up a few affordable Willamette Valley bottlings from local winemaker friends and put them in front of you, so you can choose your favorite and stock up. Come check out the latest from Ayres, Evesham Wood and a few others TBD. $8 tasting fee, waived with the purchase of any of the wines being poured.
