The Dalles, OR (August 13, 2015) – The Dalles, Oregon, has announced its first “farm-to-fork” dining experience. Autumn Harvest Farm 2 Fork, which is being held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, will celebrate the Easter Columbia River Gorge’s farm-fresh cuisine and fine wines.
50 guests will savor a six-course, al fresco meal on the picturesque The Pines Estate – one of Oregon’s oldest vineyards – during the heart of the grape harvest. Attendees will also enjoy live music and local art. The limited tickets are currently available for $95 per person.
Local chefs Mark Linebarger of Baldwin Saloon and Tamara Hoffman will be creating memorable dishes with ingredients from a number of local farms and artisanal food producers, including Sunny Daze Farm, Raz’s Organics, Pereira Honey, Johnston Orchard, Cascadia Creamery, Sandoz Farm and United Farms. The six courses will be paired with local wines from The Pines 1852, Sunshine Mill Winery, 15 Mile Winery and Moody Toll Bridge Winery.
“The Dalles area has a rich agricultural tradition, and we are excited to welcome guest to experience the seasonal produce and wines that our farms and wineries have to offer this harvest season,” said Lisa Farquharson, President/CEO of The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce. “We also invite attendees to make a weekend of it and explore all that The Dalles and the eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area have to offer.”
Cousin’s Country Inn, located in The Dalles, is offering special rates for Autumn Harvest Farm 2 Fork participants: European-style room with a queen, king or two queens – $79 (regular price $114-$124); deluxe loft-style room – $99 (regular price $164).
