Next month, LifeWorks NW — one of Portland’s leading behavioral health nonprofits — presents its annual Portland’s Original Iron Chef event to benefit its Children’s Relief Nurseries. The nurseries provide therapeutic classrooms, home visits, parenting skills and more to help fight child abuse and neglect. In 2016, nearly 12,000 Oregon children were victims of abuse and neglect; with one report of abuse and neglect being made every eight minutes.
The Portland’s Original Iron Chef event features five of the region’s top chefs preparing signature appetizers for guest to taste on site. This year’s chefs are:
Chip Barnes — Alto Bajo
Gabe Gabreski — a Cena
Julius Baliola — Hubers
Jonathan Gill — Ringside Fish House
John Newman — Newman’s at 988 (Cannon Beach).
Tickets are $125 at www.lifeworksnw.org
