Keeping you fed with new hours, delivery + parking lot pickup

March 16, 2020

How we’re bringing you good food in hard times.

Daily hours 10a – 6p for shopping.

Beginning today, we are adjusting our hours to 10a–6p and suspending in-store dining. This change will allow us to better focus our efforts and keep both you and our staff in good health.

Providore is more than a market. We’re an all-day gathering place for language lessons, office lunches, impromptu coffee dates, and leisurely hours spent at the table with friends and a bottle of wine. We know the role we play in the community, which is why we don’t make these decisions lightly. Given the clear importance of social distancing, closing our dining room is one way we can reduce everyone’s exposure.

We look forward to welcoming you back for a drink and a shared meal, but in the meantime, we are here for you and your home cooking! (And all of our housemade foods you love are still available for takeaway.) Read on to learn about our curbside pickup and delivery options…

Curbside or Delivery

Our priority is keeping you well-provisioned with the foods you both need and want. If you know your order, and would like for us to do your shopping, we have options for both parking lot pick-up and home delivery. We’re rolling this service out quickly, so please be patient as we work through the bumps together.

We will soon have an online menu available of items that are available for pick-up and delivery. In the meantime, give us a call (503.232.1010) and let us know what you need and we’ll put together an order for you!

You can also check out the Instagram feeds of @providorepdx @rubinetteproduce @twoxseapdx @revelmeatco @littletbaker @hilaryhorvathflowers to see what’s on offer and get some inspiration.

Parking Lot Pick-Up Service

  • Please call 503.232.1010 or email orders@providorefinefoods.com. Payment will be taken over the phone.
  • Pick-up is available between noon – 6p daily.
  • Please allow 2 hours for us to pull and pack your order after we have confirmed that we’ve received it.
  • Please call when you’ve arrived in the parking lot and let us know your name and the make of your car.

Delivery Service

  • Please call 503.232.1010 or email orders@providorefinefoods.com. Payment will be taken over the phone.
  • Order by noon for same-day delivery. Your order will arrive no later than 6p. We will drop at the front door if nobody is home, so please keep in mind the stability of any perishables you order.
    • Within a 5-mile radius: Minimum order is $30 with a delivery fee of $5. Free delivery with orders over $75.
    • Between 5- and 10-mile radius: Minimum order is $100 + delivery fee of $20.

And remember, chicken dinners from Arrosto are always available for home delivery through Caviar, while our housemade pasta and sauces can be ordered from our friends at MilkRun.

Support your local community.

As the impact from coronavirus continues to ripple through the world, the food we eat takes on even greater significance. Food insecure students who receive free lunch through their schools now face hunger without their cafeteria. Some of our dearest friends in the restaurant community have had to make difficult decisions to close or reduce service. And neighbors who rely on food pantries are finding shortages of supplies and volunteers. Inspired by the efforts of our peers, we’re including a round-up here of a few ways you can make an impact:

  • Familymealpdx.com offers assistance to service and agricultural workers in medical crisis.
  • Portland Public Schools will continue to offer free meals to children ages 1-18 at select sites around town.
  • Oregon Food Bank has mounted a special response effort.
  • Urban Gleaners continues to run food pantries around Portland.
  • Buy a gift certificate to a favorite small restaurant or retailer that you can redeem once they reopen, or buy their merch online while they’re closed.
