Kachka Begins Curbside Pickup and Delivery, Temporarily Closes Dining Room

March 16, 2020

PORTLAND, Ore. (March. 16, 2020) – Today Kachka followed leading restaurants throughout the United States in voluntarily closing their dining room in order to support social distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak in Oregon. Kachka will continue to offer nourishing Russian comfort food via curbside pickup and delivery (within a 3 mile radius of the restaurant). Kachka’s prepared lunch and dinner menu items, as well as grocery and deli items from Kachka Lavka are now available to order by phone, and online starting tomorrow. Kachka Lavka will remain open to walk-ins as a grocery store and deli. Kachka had announced free lunch for kids under the age of 12 over the weekend, and will continue to provide that via a brown bag pick up from Kachka Lavka until further notice.

  • Kachka’s lunch and dinner menus are available for curbside pick up or delivery within 3 miles. Menus are at kachkapdx.com/menus, and orders and payment are taken by phone at 503.235.0059

  • Kachka Lavka’s shelves are stocked with myriad Russian snacks, wines and dry goods, as well as house-baked breads, charcuterie, pickles, cured fish, prepared salads, quarts of schi (soup), broth, frozen dumplings and more. They also have Kachka merchandise (tee shirts, beanies, hoodies and mugs). Call 503.235.0059 to order for curbside pickup or delivery.

  • Online ordering for the above is planned to be available starting Tuesday, 3/17 at kachkapdx.com

  • Kachka Lavka will remain open for walk-in shopping as well as to-go order pick up if desired.

  • Kachka Lavka is located upstairs from Kachka at 960 S.E. 11th Ave., with an exterior entrance off of the parking lot on S.E. 12th, and an exterior staircase around the corner from Kachka’s front door on 11th Ave.

  • Curbside pick up will be from the parking lot outside of Kachka Lavka, which is accessed via an entrance on S.E. 12th ave. across from the Basement Public House. There is also a covered parking garage (both are free) adjacent to Kachka on 11th Ave. Parking map here: https://www.kachkapdx.com/parking-and-directions

About Kachka

Kachka sparked a Russian food revolution when Bonnie and Israel Morales opened their Portland restaurant in 2014. James Beard Award nominated Chef/Co-Owner Bonnie Morales cooks the food of the former Soviet Union, including many dishes inspired by those she grew up eating in her Belarusian family. Kachka is considered by many to be the best Russian restaurant in the country, and is the only Portland restaurant to be included in America’s Essential Restaurants of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by Eater, inducted into their restaurant “Hall of Fame.” Kachka was named one of GQ’s Most Outstanding Restaurants of 2015 and Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurant nominees in 2015, and was a semifinalist for 2015’s James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant.  In fall of 2019, the Morales’ opened Kachka Lavka, a deli and grocery upstairs from Kachka, which Eater National called one of the most anticipated openings of the season. Kachka and Kachka Lavka are located at 960 SE 11th Ave.,  Portland, Oregon. Follow Kachka on Instagram and Twitter @KachkaPDX kachkapdx.com
