June New From Pigeon + Friends: Cellar Sale Clarification

June 2, 2020

June News From Pigeon + Friends: Cellar Sale Pick Up Clarification

Wine Pack pickup will be at LE PIGEON on Friday and Saturday, June 5th and 6th, from 2 to 7 p.m.

Cellar Sale: The Wine of the Summer Redux
A few people have asked what makes the perfect summer white wine… is it just bright and crisp? Well no, not necessarily. For us it’s a wine that has lots of exotic aromatics leaning to floral and citrus, and a nice kick of fruit. It also has to be fully dry, have some weight, and a good amount of minerality in a way that makes you think of the sea. We want it to have all that so then you can get it super cold in a cooler of ice, and then have it be cold and refreshing, but still showing aromatic and fruit complexity. In other words, super refreshing.

Nosiola, Pojer e Sandri, 2018, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy
Nosiola is the name of the grape. It is indigenous to this one corner of Northern Italy, and grown by few people. The name may refer to hazelnuts (nocciola in Italian) because of the amber color of the ripe berries, or a light bitterness that may have been found in the wines historically. However, you won’t find that now. There are lovely aromatics of flowers, delicate pine, orange peel, salt air, and stone fruit. The palate exhibits a round medium bodied beginning, with a fully dry finish laced with minerality and acidity. All at around 11.5% alcohol, so no problem to drink some in the sun.

We are offering it in 2 ways.

6 Pack of Nosiola, Pojer e Sandri, 2018 (6 6-packs available) $125

Order Wine Pack #1
3 Pack with (2) bottles of Nosiola, Pojer e Sandri, 2018 & (1) Awesome bottle of Rosé  (36 3-packs available) $65

Rosé (Grenache/Mourvède/Counoise), The Withers, 2019, El Dorado County, CA
This Rosé is inspired by the rosés of Bandol in Provence. Rosés that are light in color, but big in flavor, and still are wines made in a warm place for drinking in warm weather. Made with the traditional grapes of Bandol grown in the Sierra Foothills of California. Aromas of citrus, cherry, watermelon rind, and pepper. The palate has weight and acidity too. This wine has the aromatics to drink cold, but as it warms in the glass you’ll be rewarded with another wave of smells and flavors.

Order Wine Pack #2
Champagne of Every Shade (16 6-packs available) $265
Ok, so “of every shade” may not be the most accurate, perhaps “Champagnes of Various Styles” would be, but we do love alliteration. We have been receiving requests for a Champagne 6-pack for weeks, but have been putting off presenting one. Perhaps, at first, we were not feeling celebratory, and then we had other wines cued up for the sales. Then we reminded ourselves that while Champagne is often used to celebrate, it is just bubbly wine after all, and if that is what strikes your fancy, than any day is the right day for it. This pack features an 100% chardonnay, an 100% Pinot Noir, and an 100% Pinot Meunier bottling, as well as two more that are blends, and rounding it out with a Rosé. Each one is distinctive and delicious.
Order Wine Pack #3
TO ORDER select your wine bundle of choice, follow the steps to securely order your wine. All payments will be processed ahead of time through our website.

Once you order they will be available for pickup at Le Pigeon, on Friday and Saturday, June 5th and 6th, from 2 to 7 p.m. You can pick them up from our front door, or we can bring them out to your car. If those times do not work for you, please let us know and we can arrange an alternative.

We are all in this together, and when you’re drinking good stuff, well hey, you’re keeping it classy.
