Okay. So. Let’s try this again, eh? It’s TAKEOUT TIME once more, folks. We’re fully locked and loaded with piles of crunchy fried chicken, oodles of fluffy biscuits, luscious braised pork cheeks with stoneground grits, and that good pimento mac and cheese with cheesy salt and vinegar potato chip crust. Fortunately for all of us, our food travels REALLY well, and fried chicken is equally delicious wherever you eat it. It’s good hot, and room temperature, and straight out of the fridge. We’re lucky to be in the fried chicken business in this moment of time.
Sure, it sucks not being able to go out. But you know what’s worse?? An uncontained and untreated pandemic. So we’re closing our dining room again in hopes that folks will STAY SAFE and STAY WELL. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t EAT WELL at the same time. So we’ll be here for our regular old business hours – 11am to 8pm, Thursday through Sunday, for all your takeout and delivery needs.
If you’re concerned for our wellbeing as a business:
Let’s be real. You probably should be. We certainly are, and we’re also concerned for all our friends across the city, state and country that are attempting to weather this storm alongside us. So here’s a little list of things you can do to help if you’re feeling generous:
Order takeout, not delivery! Businesses don’t really partner with those third party apps for fun, we do it out of desparation. If you are able to pick up your food, please do – and know that it helps us take care of our bottom line as well as our hard-working employees.
Leave positive reviews! It’s a great way to give a small boost in visibility to the places you love, and to help counteract the people who are actually cruel enough to negatively review the food they ordered to be delivered to their house that took an hour and a half to get there, like restaurants have any control over what happens once those bags leave our doors. Ahem.
Purchase merchandise or gift cards to keep for yourself OR give as gifts! Here at Yonder, we have some awesome items: tees, dad caps, enamel pins, and beautiful Mae tote bags! We’ve also got digital AND physical gift cards, so you can send them to loved ones via email or tuck them into a stocking or under a tree or wherever you want, realistically. Purchasing these items essentially invests in our futures and our ability to weather this winter, the pandemic, everything. You can order merch through Tock, and you can order gift cards over the phone whenever we’re here!
Yonder is open for takeout, pre-order AND delivery from 11am-8pm, Thursday through Sunday! There are lots of ways to order. Some of our favorites are:
Pre-ordering through Tock! Tock orders get priority over call-ins and delivery, so if you’re hoping to pick up at a specific time, this is your move! You can also order a week in advance, so if you’re a planner, we’ve got you.
Giving us a call! Our phone line at (503)444-7947 opens at 11am Thursday-Sunday. If you’re hoping to order ahead, using Tock will put you first in line – so calling in an order works best if you’re placing an order with flexibility. Wait times rarely surpass the 30-minute mark.
Ordering delivery! We partner with Caviar for delivery all over Portland. Wait times depend on how busy we are with other orders, AND how busy the drivers are. If you’re doing takeout and not delivery, please remember that ordering directly from us saves you AND us money!
And that’s it, y’all. That’s our update for now. As we head into a brave new world this week (AGAIN), please remember to take care of your sweet selves. Wear your masks. Wash your hands. Breathe, sleep, and eat fried chicken.
